Fair will host annual Labor Day Parade

2009-09-06

The New York State Fair will host its annual Labor Day Parade across the Fairgrounds Monday morning; the final day of the 2009 Fair.

The parade, organized by the Greater Syracuse Labor Council, will begin at 11 a.m. near Gate 6 and travel the length of the Fairgrounds to Chevy Court. A Labor Day rally will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Chevy Court Pavilion, followed by a luncheon at the Empire Room at 12:30 p.m.

"The Fair is proud to play a role in recognizing the contributions of working men and women of New York State," Fair Director Dan O'Hara said.

The Labor Day Parade will be held in addition to the Fair's regular 6 p.m. Daily Parade, which begins at Chevy Court.
