Law Enforcement Day, Pride Day, New Americans Day, SUNY Day

Law Enforcement Day

Law Enforcement Day allows free admission to any active or retired law enforcement personnel who presents a badge and/or picture ID from the law enforcement department from which they are or were employed. Make sure to attend the Law Enforcement Day ceremonies at 12:00pm in front of the Horticulture Building and make sure to see all the law enforcement participants in our Daily Parade at 6:00pm.

 

Pride Day

Pride Day celebrates the state’s LGBTQ community. Events include a flag raising, an official ceremony, an information fair, and participation in the Fair Daily Parade at 6:00pm.

 

New Americans Day

More than 100 people from 40 different countries will become United States citizens today during a ceremony at 11:00am in the Empire Room. The ceremony will be conducted by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. This is the first citizenship ceremony ever conducted at the New York State Fair. Following the ceremony, the New York State Office for New Americans will host musical performances and acts in the Empire Room for the remainder of the day.

 

SUNY Day

A day celebrating SUNY campuses with a visit from SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher and the Chevy Court concert that evening will be introduced by SUNY representatives. Make sure to visit SUNY Plaza, located right off of Chevy Court inside the Science & Industry Building and features exciting exhibits from New York’s 64 public colleges and universities. Come learn about financial aid and see what you might look like as a college grad!

Dairy Day, Senior Citizen's Day

Dairy Day

This is the State Fair’s way of saying thank you to all the dairy farmers that provide us with the state’s official beverage, “Milk”. Come enjoy the day’s great activities from the milkshake contest and cheese auction at Chevy Court Pavilion in the morning to the day long Open Class Holstein Show followed by the celebrity milking contest at the Toyota Coliseum.

 

Senior Citizen’s Day

Senior citizens, sixty (60) years of age and older, are offered free admission on these two days of the Fair. ID showing date of birth may be requested to allow free admittance.

There is a new reception area for senior group bus and van parking, thus a special parking permit for this location will be required. Please contact the Art & Home Center office at (315) 487-7711 ext. 1265 to pre-register for this permit.

Fairgoers are able to make use of the Fair’s internal tram network for free on these two senior days with the service running 9:00am-8:00pm. These trams travel around the perimeter road, stopping at 11 scheduled stops.

Fire & Rescue Day, Beef Day, Senior Citizen's Day

Fire & Rescue Day

Fire & Rescue Day allows for free admission to any active or retired member of a fire department or emergency services organization who has a duly issued picture ID from that department or organization. Make sure to attend the Fire & Rescue Day ceremonies at 11:00am in front of the Horticulture Building and make sure to see all the fire & rescue participants in our Daily Parade at 6:00pm.

 

Beef Day

Beef it’s what’s for dinner! The day’s activities include following your nose to the Chevy Court pavilion to watch the grilling contest in the morning and be sure to stop by the Quality Meats Display in the Dairy Products Building where you can pick up your free beef recipes while you watch demonstrations all day by the National Beef Ambassadors.

Women's Day, Wade Shows Wednesday

Women’s Day

Attend the annual Women’s Day Luncheon plus many special events have been planned throughout the day. Highlighted events include the Fine Arts and Photo Exhibition in the Art & Home Center as well as judging in the Culinary Arts area. During the entire day, various women’s advocacy organizations will be at a “mini-fair” set up in the Chevy Court Pavilion. Please call (315) 487-7711 ext. 1265 for more information.

Wade Shows Wednesday

Special limited wristband offer, 10 rides for only $10.00. Wristbands can be purchased at any Wade Shows ticket booth on the midway. Wristbands are not shareable.

Armed Forces Day, $3 Thursday

Armed Forces Day

Armed Forces Day allows free admission to any active duty or veteran with military identification (Military ID Card, form DD-214 or NYS Driver License, Learner Permit or non-driver ID card with a veteran designation). Make sure to attend the Armed Forces Day ceremonies at 11:00am at the Veterans MemorialJoin the State Fair community as we honor and give tribute to all members of our Armed Forces.

Native Americans receive free admission on this day. ID is not required, but it is asked that attendees enter through Gate 4 only.

Labor Day, Summer Send Off "Dollar Day"

Labor Day

Labor Day is to honor those working women and men who make American strong. Supporters of labor can meet at 10:00 a.m. near Gate 4 and then at 10:30 a.m. they will march to Chevy Court for a Labor Day rally.

 

Summer Send Off “Dollar Day”

  • Adult admission to the Fair will be $1.00 per person all day.
  • All of the rides in the Wade Shows Midway will be $1.00 per ride.
  • Vendors offering $1.00 specials on food, drink, and merchandise –full list coming soon.
  • We’ll light up the night and say farewell to the Fair at dusk, right after the final Chevy Court concert of the year, from Nick Jonas at 6:00pm. Sponsored by National Grid.
  • Fair Parking will still cost $5.00
